Welcome to "Fugl & Fjer Fluebinding"s homepage. My name is Jens Christian Pilgaard, and with my wife Helle I have been running our flytying shop since March 1993. The reason why we started selling feathers was that it seemed almost impossible to get hold of decent materials when I started tying flies myself many years ago.

Now we can offer our customers the highest quality at the lowest price on the market, as we manufacture a great deal of our goods ourselves.This especially applies for furs and feathers.

For us it is a natural thing to be conscientious when it comes to dealing with items from endangered species. This means that you, in our pricelist, are able to see which species requires a permit ( either cites-certificate or registration) whenever bought or sold. Unfortunately this is a highly neglected problem within our wonderful hobby, but we are of the opinion that the customers are entitled to a professional guidance, so that they don't get " tricked " into buying illegal feathers etc. .

Among other birds we breed our own Junglecocks to be able to sell these feathers leagally. This also mean that we only sell moulting feathers from these birds.

Since 1996 I have been particepating in Mustad Scandinavian Open flytying contest, in which I have had the pleasure of receiving a number of medals and diplomas.

            Open class - silver medal

1998    Fully dressed salmon - open – gold medal

            Streamer – bronze medal

I have also had the pleasure of receiving diplomas in the following categories : fully dressed salmon, hairwinged salmon, dryfly, open category, wetflies, streamer and superrealistic flies.

I offer a range of seminars and workshops on subjects such as : Flytying, Knives and Forging knives.

As something new we can offer our customers the opportunity of participating in our Wilderness-seminar in flyfishing and our Mini – Wilderness fishing tours in Norway from spring 1999. We will be camping in a big Lapplander tent called a "Lavvu" and of cause we will be flyfishing besides learning how to get along in- and use the nature correctly.
